A PUBLICATION OF SALES IMPROVEMENT CONSULTANTS
Anniversary Issue August 2007

Twenty-Five Years As
Consultant To Professionals

Adam Radzik, president of Sales Improvement Consultants, celebrates twenty-five years of assisting clients in the metropolitan area, having begun in August of 1982 (his consulting career as a management consultant began in 1979, but his work with professionals began in 1982).

Adam’s diverse background includes being a clergyman, a teacher, a principal, a business columnist for the New York Post, a best-selling author, a producer and host of his own radio show, and a sales manager for a national clothing company. He has worked in a locked psychiatric ward and has taught psychology to homicidal inmates. Adam is the author of Answers for Managers; How to Act Before, During and After the Argument; The Truth about Relationships; How to Identify and Escape Abuse; Relationship Recovery; What to Do When Life Gets Tough; Parenting and Reality; Loving Yourself; Leave Your Partner If; Remain With Your Partner If; and another five or six titles. He is currently making studio recordings of his prose poetry, including four audio CDs entitled My Feelings Exactly, Eleven-Thirty on Maple Drive, Whispering Between Prayers and Liar's School. Adam also plans to record audio CD versions of his short stories, including “The Vacuum Cleaner Incident,” “Call Me God,” “Inside Louie’s Trunk,” “The Desperate Man,” “Only a Rich Man,” “The Four Confessions,” “The Troubled Therapist,” “The Human Chameleon,” “The Stolen Wedding Dress” and about 35 others. Adam has composed approximately 1,600 melodies and has released an instrumental CD entitled “Tranquility.”

Adam’s consulting life has included teaching and mentoring attorneys, accountants, bankers, brokers and a wide variety of professional salespersons. Adam assists firms with management and conflict-resolution issues but spends most of his time acting as a sales coach to professional organizations.

What does a sales coach do? First, he tries to learn everything about the client’s history. This would include the client’s childhood, schooling, culture, first work experiences, interests, hobbies, academic prowess and many other things. Second is to identify past marketing and selling efforts and any obstacles that may have prevented greater success. Third is to craft a campaign that is well tailored to that specific individual, going very deliberately with the grain of the wood! Successive interactions act to motivate, encourage, reward, structure, organize and problem-solve.

There is a high success rate for those who enroll in the program. Mentees learn a lot more about selling, sell a lot more and become stronger and more self-confident. Adam is very proud of the achievements of his students; individuals have become managing partners of large professional organizations, presidents of banks, members of boards of directors of multinational companies, executive committee members, leaders of their companies and, of course, high-level producers. Many have also become Adam's cherished friends.

Beverly Sills 1929 – 2007

Opera lovers everywhere are mourning the July 2 passing of coloratura soprano Beverly Sills. The combination of Beverly’s thrilling voice, engaging personality and commitment to the promotion of culture garnered admiration and adulation from countless fans the world over. In her personal life, she dealt with profound difficulties because of her children’s ailments and eventually her husband’s illness as well. Beverly Sills was and will be a shining example of personal achievement, commitment to the public good and valiant striving to overcome personal challenges.

Her voice began to fail her in 1980 and she eloquently ended her singing career by singing these words from a Portuguese folk song: “Time has come for me to leave you. Tis the moment for goodbye. Ah my sweet, we have to part now. Please brush your tears from those dear eyes. We have shared so much together. Tis not the end but a new start. Ah my dear, I’ll always love you. You’ll be forever in my heart.”

Beverly, you are probably thrilling new audiences in sold-out performances in heaven with your enchanting voice and endearing sense of humor. Thank you, sweet soul, for everything you have given to us. May we always remember how beautifully you lived your life and may your loved ones always enjoy God’s bountiful blessings.
